A Start to a New Beginning Empty
PostSubject: A Start to a New Beginning   A Start to a New Beginning EmptyMon 31 Jan 2011 - 15:23

It has been about a year since what the Elements felt as the final battle ended. The Elements broke away from each other after that battle, choosing to go about life in their own ways. What was once the greatest team of fighters, is now reduced to people who just want to live life... Katelyn had taken the battle, and the situation as a whole pretty badly, but is currently working with Mike to help the people of the U.S through the aftermath of World War 3. Katelyn was doing all she could in order to help everyone that was hurt, partially due to them. Mike did it for the booze, experience, and the chance to learn about other people.

That morning Katelyn was sitting atop the largest tree she could find in the forest she had picked several months ago. She was watching the sunset slowly rise, it's tendrils of light dancing in her vision. This was the forest that Katelyn and Mike had planned to create a base of operations, something to help protect those from the new Honor Guard threat. Due to Mike being an earth manipulator, he took care of all of the building underground, where it was being hidden. Though nowadays progress has been rather slow due to Mike's sluggish pace and low attention span... On a normal morning, Katelyn would have peace, as Mike was usually stalking, resting, or drinking before he worked for the day. But, this morning was different...

A silhouette of black invaded Kate's vision, the light curling around the object revealing that it was Mike in front of Kate, a slab of floating earth holding him up.

"Katelyn, there's someone attacking a hospital North of here. I'd go myself, but saving people is more of your thing, not mine." Mike replied, starting to float down before getting an answer,"I'll be down here pretending to work though. Have fun with your thing."

Once Katelyn could no longer sense Mike, she sighed, standing as she turned her head and looked North. The sun hadn't been up for long, and so she could only see the suns rays off the very tops of the trees. Katelyn was looked at as powerful, but she felt as though she was cursed. She had lost her sight with the gain of these abilities, and can now only see light and where it hits objects. She could also sense it, which in all reality gave her a larger field of view, but she could not perceive details perfectly... Nor could she see color, or texture, or anything like that. This pseudo sight was all she had, and she was thankful for it, but she still felt blind... With how the sun is now, she might only be able to get into the city. In an hour it would be safe to travel. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have an hour, and her safety was not one of her highest priorities.

Katelyn turned the rest of her body North, her left hand resting on her sheathed longsword, her right hand holding tightly to a radiant steel helmet which covered her hair and eyes, leaving her mouth open. She looked down at herself, the glittering metal from the armor she wore illuminated in her vision from the sunlight that danced on it. Katelyn of course saw no color, but everyone else saw the magnificent ornate beauty of her golden armor. Now, many question her for wearing armor due to her inability to be hurt, but she did not wear it to protect herself. She wore her armor as a symbol. A symbol of hope that the world can be saved, and a symbol of faith as Katelyn acts as a Guardian Angel to all. Angel was a common word used to describe Katelyn, but not just due to her actions or personality. Most called her an angel due to how she looked, because she was gifted with a magnificent pair of flowing angelic wings that gave her incredible flight. It also helped to strengthen her symbol of hope, as you could see her armor and wings from miles away.

Placing the helmet upon her head and eyes, Katelyn bent her knees, expanding her once folded wings, and jumped. Katelyn fell for awhile before her wings caught the wind, pulling her upward as she soared over the trees and towards her destination. While she flew, she thought of what everyone saw her as, calling her a saint and a savior. But deep inside she knew this wasn't true, as she could not save everyone... But this doesn't mean that she isn't going to try her hardest to do so...

(I'll finish the rest later. Wrote it later today in 9 pages. Above is only 3.)
