A Conversation Empty
PostSubject: A Conversation   A Conversation EmptyThu 29 Jul 2010 - 23:37

Ok, I have a really awesome story idea involving these two. However, I'm not going to say anything yet. I need to work out a lot of stuff before I do anything. Though this conversation came into my head last night (yes, at 3 in the morning), and I just had to write it down. Tell me what you think about it; I want to hear everything =P

Word Length: 1,281 words

Jamie sat in her usual position in the chair; body laid back, legs spread, and eyes staring down at the paper in front of her. She tapped her pencil against it, and having done so for the past 45 minutes of class, it was now covered in tiny pencil marks. She yawned, extremely bored. Her startling green eyes then glanced up at the woman at the front of the class, her teacher, and perhaps the most beautiful thing she had ever laid eyes on. She smirked to herself as she watched her write some complicated math equation on the chalkboard. Then she turned back around and asked if anyone knew the answer to the problem.

‘She is so sexy when she’s in teacher mode,’ Jamie thought to herself as she bit the end of her pencil. She continued to stare at her teacher, thinking that Rachel wouldn’t notice. However, the woman 10 years her senior knew exactly what the high schooler was doing.

“Jamie,” she called out in her usual direct manner. “What is the answer to this problem?” She tapped the board where the equation was written. Jamie looked at the desk.

“I don’t know,” she replied calmly. Her teacher was having none of it.

“Oh I think you do Jamie,” Rachel said just as calmly. The teenager looked up, a glint in her eyes.

“And what makes you so sure of that Ms. A?” The teacher maintained her composure, knowing what her student was up to. She gave her a knowing look.

“Just a feeling I have.” Jamie looked at her blank page, then at the board, her mind working. Then she gazed at her teacher for a moment before answering.

“________________. Is that the correct answer?” Her teacher nodded.

“Yes, thank you Jamie,” the teacher said, her expression blank. Jamie sighed to herself and rested her head on hand, knowing how well her teacher faked being stoic. She watched Rachel, the woman she was infatuated with, talk about some useless thing in math she was sure that she would never use. However, she hardly paid attention to what was being said, even though she did love the sound of her voice. There was something special about seeing the person you care about most in their element, watching their facial expressions and hearing their tone of voice while they did what they enjoyed. Jamie was captivated by Rachel in that exact moment, all of those thoughts buzzing around in her head in a matter of seconds. It helped to pass the time as the rest of the 30 minutes ran down. The bell signalling the end of class rang as students, some still asleep, filed out of room and onto their next classes. As Jamie collected her books and threw them in her bag, she heard her teacher call out to her.

“Jamie, I would like to speak with you.” Jamie nodded in acknowledgement and took her time packing up, wanting to be alone with Rachel. When the last of the students cleared out she strolled over to Rachel’s desk and dropped her bag on the ground.

“You wanted to see me?” The woman nodded and cleared her throat, making Jamie stare at her slender neck for a few moments.

“Yes, I just wanted to say that I do not appreciate you playing your little games in the classroom,” she informed her in that professional way she always did during school. Jamie scoffed.

“Oh come now Ms. A, you don’t mind it one bit when I act like that during school,” Jamie countered, shoving her hands in her pockets and leaning against the desk. “In fact, I think you rather enjoy it.” Rachel pushed her glasses up her nose, her face betraying nothing.

“That is irrelevant Jamie,” she said in an even tone, making Jamie grin. Rachel knew how perceptive this girl could be, and she knew that Jamie could see right through her.

“So what are you saying Ms. A,” Jamie started, “That I should sit at the back of the class and stay quiet?” She leaned forward onto the desk so their faces were much closer. The teenager glanced at her crush’s full lips for a moment before studying her grey-blue eyes. She could swear that the older woman started breathing heavier just from being in such a close proximity.

“No,” Rachel replied, “Just…try and behave yourself.” Jamie smirked and backed away, giving the woman her space.

“People might think that you are…attracted to me,” she finished uncertainly, looking away as soon as she was done. Her hands were clasped together on the desk tightly. So tightly in fact her knuckles were white. This did not go unnoticed by the 17 year old.

“Is that so,” she said softly, her gaze shifting from the floor to Rachel’s face, taking in every detail. Said woman hesitantly shifted her focus on the girl before her, studying her features like she did so many times before. Then she slowly stood up from her chair and paced back and forth, taking only a few steps at a time. She wanted to ask a question, but didn’t know if she should venture into unsafe territory.

‘Well, I’ve already succeeded in doing that,’ she thought. Letting the teenager live with her and interacting with her so much outside of school was already a violation on some grounds. She didn’t have much to lose in asking.

“Are you attracted to me, Jamie?” The 17 year old’s eyes bulged for a moment, then her face relaxed. The professional teacher was gone, instead replaced by Rachel Anberlin, the woman Jamie cared about more than anything. When Rachel went out of work mode she spoke to her differently, and Jamie loved it when she called her name in that more familiar tone.

“Should I be, Ms. A?” Jamie asked, “Or do you want me to be?” she finished in a low, almost seductive tone. She surveyed her teacher’s flushed face and smiled inwardly.

‘She’s so cute when she blushes,’ the girl mused.

Knowing the answer to both of those questions, Rachel only answered one.

“Absolutely not Jamie. Get any thoughts out of your head right now. It wouldn’t do you any good,” the teacher answered. Jamie grinned.

“Why, I haven’t even properly answered your question yet,” the student said. She watched her teacher swallow. Oh how she loved to tease her! Rachel knew it too for she finally gave in and let the corners of her mouth lift up in a slight smile. She had grown quite fond of the girl. Jamie saw this, loving her reaction, and decided to play it up more.

“Though I think it is safe to say that I avoided the question so as not to hurt your feelings Ms. A,” the teen stated casually. The smile was wiped clean off of Rachel’s face as she stared into beautiful forest green eyes. They sparkled in the light.

“My, would it really be a significant blow to your self-confidence if I said that I do not find you attractive?” Jamie taunted. The teacher swallowed again, looking at the floor. Jamie chuckled.

“Shouldn't you be getting to class Jamie?” Rachel asked, changing the subject.

“Yes, though if I remember correctly it was you who wanted to see me. Not the other way around for once,” the girl reminded her. Then she picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She smiled at her crush and turned to walk away.

“See you soon Ms. A,” she threw over her shoulder as she walked out the door, leaving a flustered Rachel to sort things out with herself.

It was typed well, everything seemed very smooth and well-written...

...then only problem I see, is that you need to specify who is talking, it was hard to tell sometimes...

...the last comment is to the story as a whole- WTF?!!?!?

lol, good job ^^

Thank you, I try to make things realistic in these kind of situations. And no, actually. Only Jamie is. Rachel is actually engaged to a man ; )

I think this is more of a standalone story, so I'll put it into the Library instead.

Overall it's good, although you missed a few commas and were too wordy at times. The characters interacted in a way that clearly showed the awkwardness of the young teacher, and, well, yeah.

Yeah, I think I did put a few too many words in some sentences. I need to fix that >.<

And pretty hot? It's not even started yet ; )

Inferences my dear, inferences.

So, I'm guessing since Rachel has money she'll be the one bringing the toys?

Oh, and if I do end up starting it and posting it, I won't put anything mature in here (though I doubt I'd be allowed to anyway). After all, there are children around ; )
