| Aw but what I listen to are the more gentle parents of the Realm of music, the orchestrated and Opera side. The instruments range from two blocks of wood to the harp and the piano. The harp is my personal favorite for it can symbolize the power of joy, love, and even happiness. The Piano does that and more, by generating both Light and Darkness. | Aah, but you must understand that all instruments and play styles play out emotions. You may not like the style, but to ignore it and call it evil is to call those who create emotional songs demonic as well, even if they are using music as their way to cry. An example of this would be "Ironic". Though it has guitars, it is a song that is both sad and depressing, with a woman shedding her tears in her music. | proof that you indeed do not listen to metal. So much of what was symphany is gets translated in many ways. Melody, rythym, tone; classical score continues to influence metal in big ways. Some bands even hire small orchestras for studio recordings or at the very least have a pianist. Granted, it takes a practiced ear to appreciate and/or ignore the vocals, so that influence can be easily missed.
So they [opera and symphony] are like the gentle Grand-parents [of Rock, Rap, and Metal], rather. So I guess what I would say is keep an open mind, you may recognize more than you thought... [psst. Yngwie Malmsteen; Fuguetta]

I admit I've never seen a Harp in a Metal arrangement, maybe in Rock, but I can safely say you've got me there.

I admit I've never seen a Harp in a Metal arrangement, maybe in Rock, but I can safely say you've got me there. Like when Metallica teamed up with the San Francisco orchestra. That was amazing. My favourite type of music is when things like metal (which can be symphonic and stuff) teams up with an orchestra to create a powerful melody and evoke emotions in people. That kind of music gives me chills. | |
