Slithering Names

...At that, H.H. smirked and nodded. "While I did introduce myself, most of you still probably don't know that I am, you see, the one who sent you here." He cracked the joints of his hands. Ignoring those who did not present themselves, he advanced more towards the crowd and went on. "You all know about the bullshit you were fed about the superdemons last time they came. Well, thing is, we botched the job, and most of 'em never died, just migrated."

The two other equivoques, who had not introduced themselves prior--a balding male and one who seemed like he was still in high school--winced and muttered to themselves about the revelation, but Secora's tongue clicked, and she turned around to whisper to Traywick, "I knew it."

The host just shrugged. "Now they're back, and as much as I hate to admit it it's up to you guys and I to kill them. You can't say no." At those words, the garage doors leading back slid shut, and the double doors leading in made a loud sound as they were barred. "I chose you, and the only way you can dissapoint me is if you die. Now let's go."

He turned his back to his audience and went in direction of the far end of the warehouse. Secora, Traywick and most people gathered what they had brought along with themselves and followed in his steps.

Aleksander twisted his staff back in the other direction, then put it on his back as he took out his regular cane. This wasn't how he expected things to play out, but he didn't feel like teleporting out, banishing HH to Somalia and letting Vakav storm the buildingif the zealots weren't surrounding it and if the mounted units weren't prepared in the boulevard already. He was feeling too good to banish.

*V followed in suit, hoodie still up and hand on his handgun within his jacket. If looked closely, his eyes were glowing a bloody red color.

Secora never enjoyed being the center of attention, in fact, she despised it. she despised the judgemental glances of people, their sick smiles of pity and their arrogant mindsets. However, what it came to activities like these, she felt the impulsive need to take control, even when there was no control lost in the first place. The feeling she got from being around H.H. was unlike any she had felt before, and she mentally put the blame on him for making her feel insecure.

As for Traywick, the breezy walk across the large room would've been perfectly normal, except for the curious revelation that, by looking down on the ground, he realized that the floor had been sweeped clean of a single speck of dust. He shrugged, not thinking more of it.

When they arrived at the end of the wall--riddled with cracks and scratches, as well as a few busted radiators--H.H. stopped, but did not turn around. The moment of stillness lasted for a while, and then he proceeded to touch the wall with his hand, then withdraw it.

The demon hunters present would notice a door appear out of thin air. V, Becka, Shane, Aleksandar and Secora would also notice a black impish thing, one broken wing hanging limply on its side, one curiously erect, sliding down the wall, hitting the ground with a poof.

Secora cocked her head and pointed at the weird thing, laughing. "What's this thing?"

After her question a rather muffled sound was heard. Mathew Traywick coughed uncomfortably, realizing that the imp had just burped.

" Where are we going?" V asked quietly.

"If I know our inviter correctly, this must be our guide." Aleksandar said.
"Either that or we're supposed to kill it. Either way is fine with me."

The thing apparently straightened itself out and moaned, "Damn it, I just got them fixed, too!" By that time, Secora had approached her face close enough to it, and poked it with her middle finger.

The equivoque turned around, holding her finger limp, and said, "it's rubbery!" Apparently having canceled out any threat with that statement.

H.H. just looked at it silently. Once the commotion started getting louder, he opened the door that he made appear, which apparently lead to an archaic Parisian street, and walked out on the deserted ground. Secora just shrugged, thinking that Brian really didn't give a damn about the creature, and picked it up with both arms. She, and most people (with some hesitation) and Traywick, followed the leader outside.

Aleksandar followed suit. This was pretty odd. He knew now that Vakav for once held his mind, as now it was far too late to bust even with the whole of the zealot corps and some other militias. He didn't know exactly what he was going to do, or why HH wouldn't just stop walking and explain everything, but hey, part of the game.

Out on the street, looking back on the building they just came out of, it could be easily seen that the building looked nothing like the warehouse they were in. The street itself was distinct from any place around the Tenth Arrondissement.

Traywick stared at H.H., who finally began talking in a low murmur. "As anticipated, we were caught in a time warp. First super demon can already be considered caught." He looked down at the rubber-like creature and smirked. "Be careful, its breath is poisonous."

Secora almost dropped it, instead opting for the more reasonable option, and putting it in Shane's arms. "It's not dangerous otherwise, right?" she asked.

"I can hear you, you know," the black imp whined. "Not my fault I fell, I swear."

"Tell me what I need to kill." V said, eyes narrowed and glowing red. He was ready to kills some demons.

H.H. just shrugged at V, although from his hazy state, having his back towards his audience, he could've been shrugging at anything. "So far, nothing. We're going to have company soon."

Secora looked over to the poison imp dubiously. "Is it a demon?"

The rubber mass squirmed in the hands of Shane. "Hey! the name's--"

"Lesser demon," the balding equivoque spoke up for the first time. His raspy voice was loud compared to the leisurely tone of the others.

"So we'll keep it," Secora smirked. Seeing as how the situation was serious, everybody seemed to be taking some amusement to making fun of those weaker than them. She crossed her arms and chuckled. "Unless you want something to burn. I'm sure old men grow up to be pyromaniacs--"

"Aroces--"

"--Especially when the only thing they can do is set shit on fire." Secora didn't have time to add a second insult. When she was about to open her mouth again, a low grinding sound resonated around the group, vibrating into their lungs. "Eh, forget it."

Traywick, obviously having done this many times, picked up Secora's suitcase and opened it, spilling out many ordinary necessities, but a classical Kalashnikov as well. The rather short, thin woman who was Secora picked it up with ease, and reached into her coat's back pockets, extracting what would be silver ammunition.

"Do your stuff," H.H. said. He stood unmoving, even as the previously quiet street started chattering up with sound and wind, which seemed to blow from all directions. "They're coming any minute now."

Aleksandar makes a quick prayer and stands to the side of HH. Surely he wasn't actually expected to banish the horde. That would be rather unreasonable.

While the small lesser demon began to fidget around, the rather poor lighting the fighters had was completely obscured by the clouds in the sky and the fog near the earth.

Secora sighed, unsafetied the rifle, and got ready to fire. "Let's see what ya' got..." she whispered under her breath. She walked over to near H.H., who was unmoving for the most part.

Pretty quickly, ominous critters began crawling on the walls and ground near them. In the distance, under the penumbrous obscurity, a few flying creaures could be seen and heard.

As soon as she heard the first footsteps behind her, Secora turned around and opened fire on her void black prey. The demon seemed to be a blend of everything that had ever scared one when you were a child. It seemed to absorb light, and seemed to be nothing more than a hazy block of black.

H.H. dug his hands into the deep pockets of his coat, but otherwise seemed uninterested in the way Secora started the first battle.

*Valentin lowered his hood, his whitish hair flowing in the breeze. Moving his hand into his coat, he, moments later, retrieved a large silver handgun.
He stated he was ready in quiet voice and slowly fed the bullets into the gun. Taking note of the surroundings, he undid his hoodie, it falling to the ground to reveal a black loose T-shirt and a large two handled sword on his back. He watched Secora dispatch the demon, watching it's weak points.
